Great Black and White Photos Part III

1. What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photo? Is there something in particular about their photo that made you want to choose them? 
What caught my eye about this photo was the man handling the horse, the fog, and the trolley in the background. I chose this one because it looked like a regular busy day in New York.

2. What do you see, taste, hear, smell, and/or feel about this photo?
I see the trolley in the background, a man handling a horse, cloudy sky, fog, and snow on the ground. I hear loud talk, the ringing of the bell in the trolley, the clomping and neighing of the horses, and people yelling. I feel tired and cold from the snow and light wind.



1. What first caught your eye while looking at your photographers photo? Is there something in particular about their photo that made you want to choose them? 
What caught my eye in this photo was the person looking up at the balcony and how simple the photo looked. I chose this photo because of how everything blends to where it almost looks like a painting.

2. What do you see, taste, hear, smell, and/or feel about this photo?
I see the person looking up at something in the balcony, trees, a horse pulling a carriage, cloudy sky, a lamp post, and a railing. I hear clomping and neighing from the horse, people talking, and leaves being brushed by the wind. I feel cold from there being no sun with harsh winds.




 3. What would you like to create to show the world your great photographer?
I would want to great a newspaper to show the world the great photographer, Alfred Stieglitz.

          Alfred Stieglitz was a very skilled photographer that took photos in black and white. Stieglitz was born in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1864. He went to school in Germany for engineering in 1881 and went to Technische Hochschule in Berlin for photochemistry in 1882. When Stieglitz got back to New York in 1890, he got in a partnership with a photogravure company and took photos of streets.            He then went back to Europe in 1894 and joined a pictorialist society called The Linked Ring located in London. Eight years later, Stieglitz tries to tell the world that photography could show as much artistic expression as painting and sculpture. In 1903, which was a year later, he became the director and publisher of Camera Works , a magazine with its graphic section worked on by Edward Steichen. La Pedrera, Spain 1. Who is the architect? The architect is Antonio Gaudi. 2. When was it built? It was built in 1912. 3. Where is it located? It's located in Barcelona, Spain. 4. Is it a private building or can you visit it? You can visit the building. 5. Is there information on how much it cost to build? There's no information on how much it cost to build. 6. Is there a reason the building was created or the history of the building itself? The building was inspired by the Modernista movement. 7. Why did you pick this building?  I picked this building because I saw how the exterior was wavy and it drew my attention. I also liked how there were so many different floors to accommodate for different space. I thought it was interesting how the whole building was like a big piece of art. Abandoned Theme Parks

1. Which amusement park featured in the two articles would you like to visit and take your camera along and what about that park makes you want to go there? I would like to visit Land of Oz in Beech Mountain, North Carolina. It doesn't look so scary and since it's abandoned, there won't be people getting in your shots if you wanted to have a model to pose on the yellow brick road or going into a castle. Also, The Wizard of Oz movie turned into an amusement park is great. To see it abandoned would be terrifying but more realistic than having people walking everywhere, even in the forest. 2.
