Composition Part I

Here's an example of  Simplicity . I chose this photo because it shows one subject in the photo heading downward. Here's an example of  The Rule of Thirds . I chose this photo because it shows the men on the way right of the photo and you can see the debris on the left of them. Here's an example of  Lines . I chose this photo because you can see the lines from the buildings going up and the diagonal lines from the fountain. Here's an example of  Balance . I chose this photo because not one part of the photo is getting more attention than the other parts and it looks well balanced. Here's an example of  Framing . I chose this photo because the fireman is in the frame of the broken wall. Here's an example of  Avoiding Mergers . I chose this photo because no objects merge with the woman and it's just her in the cloud of dust.

The Camera's History and Basic Functions

1. Explain the "camera obscura" effect. How is it achieved? Well, the camera obscura effect was founded by Greek and Chinese philosophers. It's achieved by having a dark room with a small hole made in a wall. When light is focused through the small hole, the scene that is outside of the room is projected upside down on the wall opposite of the one with the hole. 2. What invention during the 17th Century helped people get a step closer to creating the modern camera? The invention created by Isaac Newton and Christian Huygens during the 17th century was the glass lens. 3. What were the parts of the first modern camera invented by Niépce? First Day Photos!

I liked this photo because you could see how bright the sky is then you could see the darkness of the shadows in the flowers. What made it a good photo in my opinion was the different brightness in the photo. I picked this specific photo because of how you could see the rays of the sun spreading in the sky. What I did to make it a good photo was that I was near the ground shooting up so I could get the sun shining over the Roses.                                                                                                  I liked this photo because you can see the shadows on her face. What made this a good photo was the different colors in the photo. I chose this photo because I liked how it was green with some pop of colors. What I did to make it a good photo was that I did it at an angle where the sun wasn't in the way of the camera.

I took Photo 1 because I love photography. I want to be a better photographer and try to get the best angles and lighting on photos. I also think I could learn several new techniques to try at home with my own Canon camera.
