Self-Portrait vs. Selfie

A selfie is 'a photograph that one has taken of oneself, typically one taken with a smartphone or webcam and shared via social media'. To put it in my own words, a selfie is someone taking a picture of themselves using a phone camera and posting on social media. A self-portrait is 'a portrait that an artist produces of themselves'. I would say a self-portrait is a picture an artist makes of themselves. So in other words, a selfie is like an informal self-portrait.

There is a difference between selfies and self-portraits. The first difference is shown by their definition. The second difference is that self-portraits show more artistic value and emotion. Selfies show what you're or who you're with at a specific time. The third difference is self-portraits can be painted, drawn, or digitally done. Selfies are only digital.

The style I prefer more are self-portraits. I like self-portraits more because I can be much more creative with it. Self-portraits also show more feeling and have hidden meanings behind them. Self-portraits can be fun to plan out then put together. Self-portraits also are more valuable because they can take a lot of time and effort to put together and when you see the end result it looks great.
